NatWealth Securities Limited (NWSL) is a fully owned Subsidiary of National Wealth Corporation Ltd., and was incorporated on  23rd June 2003 with an Issued Share Capital of Rs.200 million which has been enhanced to Rs: 300M w.e.f. 01st July 2006.

NWSL was granted a license by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka in November 2003 to operate as a Primary Dealer in Government Securities.

1. What are the available securities for your investment?

a) If your investment is short term;
    Treasury Bills (T-bills).

    * Periodical investment is for 91  days, 182 days and 364 days.

     * Issued at a discounted rate.

     * Total  proceeds  including  interest are paid at maturity.

b) If your investment is long term;
    Treasury Bonds (T-bonds).

     * Periodical investment range from 2 to 20 years.

     * Interest is paid half yearly.

      * According to market conditions, T-bonds are issued at a discount rate,  

        at   par or at a premium.

     * Face value is paid at maturity.

2. Repurchase (Repo ) / Reverse Repo facilities

a) Repurchase

    * You   can   invest  your  money  for  any short-term period in Repos   

       according to your investment requirement and earn interest.

b) Reverse Repo.

    * By using your T-bills and T-bonds as collateral, you can get a loan for a 

      short period at a low interest rate. For more details on these facilities

3. What are the benefits you get by investing in Government Securities ? 

  * Risk free instruments.

  * Attractive returns.

  * Tradable and transferable instruments.

  * Easy conversion to money, even before maturity.

  * Accepted as collateral in the banking system.

  * For individuals, interest received on govern­ment securities is free from 

     income  tax. 

  * No stamp duty.

  * Your ownership is secured through registering the investment with the 

     Central Depository System (CDS) managed by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.

  * Regular statements confirming transactions, outstanding balances, maturity

     and interest payments are issued by the CDS.

  * Interest and maturity proceeds are credited on time to investors accounts.

  * Investors can obtain details of their investment through the internet at any 

     time.
